What's required?
Under Directive (EU) 2024/825 there are two harmonised EU graphics on guarantees since 27 September 2026. Every store needs one of them; the other only applies to certain products.
Legal guarantee notice (harmonised notice)
Every trader selling goods to consumers must, before the contract is concluded, inform them in a prominent manner about the legal guarantee of conformity of at least two years, using the official notice in Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2025/1960.

The Annex II label is only required if all of these apply:

Frequently asked questions
Does every online store have to show the EU legal guarantee notice?
Yes, every trader selling goods to consumers in the EU. Since 27 September 2026 traders must inform consumers about the legal guarantee in a prominent manner before the contract is concluded, using the harmonised notice set out in Annex I of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960. The legal basis is Directive (EU) 2024/825, which amends the Consumer Rights Directive.
When do I need the GARAN label?
Only when the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability that is free of charge, covers the whole good, lasts longer than two years and has been made available to you as the trader. Seller guarantees, paid guarantees or guarantees covering only one component must not carry the GARAN label.
Can I redesign or translate the notice myself?
No. Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 states that none of the elements of the harmonised notice can be edited. The app therefore displays the official European Commission files unchanged in the matching language.
Where does the notice appear in my store?
On all product pages (by default below the buy button, or wherever you place the optional app block) and in the cart. One click opens the full official notice with the Your Europe link. For the order confirmation email you get a snippet to paste in.
Which languages are supported?
All 24 official EU languages. The matching version is picked automatically from the storefront language, on the free plan too.
Are gift cards and B2B orders excluded?
Yes. Gift cards, products that do not require shipping and B2B customers are excluded automatically, because the obligation only covers goods sold to consumers.
How much does it cost?
The Free plan is free forever and includes all mandatory features for unlimited products. Pro costs USD 4.99 per month, billed through Shopify, with a 7-day free trial.
Does the app store my customers' data?
No. The app stores no personal data of end customers and sets no cookies or tracking on the storefront. It only stores shop settings; GARAN data is kept as metafields in your own Shopify store. See the privacy policy.
